"Wenn da was wäre, merke ich was. Wenn da nichts ist, merke ich auch nichts." War seine Aussage. Jetzt beobachte ich mich ständig in verschiedenen Situationen und fühle in mich hinein, ob es *wirklich* "anders" ist.... oder nicht. Bin mittlerweile bei 2x 20mg pro Tag.... Woran merkt ihr, dass das Medikinet wirkt? Völlig verzweifelte Grüße

Study

I (as I am sure the majority of you) greatly struggle with studying and school work. I am working on my bachelors in psychology with a plan to get my PhD and it is sometimes physically painful to get through these courses that don’t interest me. I found that this app is helping me a lot with it, as well as the fact that I was just put on my first ADHD med. Lol, the pomodoro technique is also really helpful for me as well! Try that if you have a hard time staying on task with anything!

Color codes help me so much

Whether it’s lists on a notepad, tables in Notion, notes in my agenda, dividing stuff in colors help me so much. I try not to freeze and be obsessive with the colors themselves and what they are or represent and I try not to go crazy if I run out of colors and I have to reuse some. I also always carry one of those multi-tip colored pens with me

Living with NTs

Living with Neuro-typical (NTs) roommates has it's pros and cons. Our brains fundamentally function differently and therefore we experience a lot of "culture clashes." Here are a few things that help my household minimize those clashes: 1. Group chat- on the days I feel Nonverbal, or I don't have the bandwidth to mask and emote, I let my roommates know. A quick "hey, I'm non verbal today!" text will bypass any 'what's wrong?' or 'are your mad at me?' questions. They give me my space and I give them their's. 2. Safe words- when out in public, and I get overwhelmed or overstimulated, I freeze and/or bolt. I IMMEDIATELY need remove myself from the situation to avoid a panic attack. I, as an adult, can usually do this on my own. However, it's very odd when a person randomly stands up from the table and walks out on brunch without saying a single word. This is where a safe word comes in. I'll simply turn to my friends (or whomever I'm with) and say "I am so sorry, but Pumpernickel.” They will immediately understand that I am not trying to be rude, or trying to cause a scene, I'm just trying to regulate myself, and I'm doing what my body needs in that moment. Again, this limits the amount of communication that would normally be needed. And I can gracefully exit without too much fuss, or without being forced to stay in a torturous situation. What are some of YOUR tips n tricks?

I am asking myself if I also have Bipolar and Asperger 🙃

My psychiatrist prescribed me some Quetiapine and Eszopiclone, cause I can’t sleep anymore. Last night I could finally sleep through the night and wasn’t up for hours and hours. Hope it helps on the long term! 🤞🏾

Emojis

Anyone else having an issue with emojis? Every time I click to search for an emoji it takes the keyboard away so I have to scroll through all of them instead of using the keyword shortcut..

Med Change

Switching from Adderall to Focalin… day 2… not really seeing any changes but we’ll see… I’m so tired of med roulette 😐

If you're on medication, how long did it take to find the right dose?

I'm only on day 2 of methylphenidate, but after the initial tiny system shock yesterday I don't feel anything. I though the improvement would last more than 24hrs before my body was like "Bored now. Please try again next time."

App Suggestion

I wish we could add others that are similar to us to our squad - if we can I don’t know how yet lol! I hope this app expands its features without changing price. I’d also like a mood tracking feature :)

Stuck in bed

I’m feeling really tired today. I don’t know why because I had a good sleep. I’ve taken my medications, had breakfast, got up and showered but then I made the mistake of getting back into bed. It’s warm and cozy and I just can’t bring myself to get up again any ideas or inspiration?

How do you all deal with the pain of RSD when it feels like a hot knife cutting to core or a complete vacuum of emptiness inside you?

I’m currently taking 3 10 mg Dexedrine/day & klonopin as needed

The dex is working pretty well but not as well as it used to at all. Any suggestions for supplements or another prescription med to take in conjunction with the dex to increase its therapeutic effectiveness?

ChatGPT is the greatest life hack, for ADHD

I find it extremely helpful for getting any kind of task started, and therefor done as the hardest thing for my ADHD is the starting it! That said I would love to learn more about how / if others are using it on here..

What's the difference between white, brown and pink noise?

Are they useful for something specific or they're interchangeable? When do you use them? Do they really help?

Meds

What med(s) are you taking and do you really see the difference? I take Ritalin (10mg) four times a day. 2in the morning and 2 at lunchtime. It helps me a lot with task managing but I don't think it's working with racing thoughts and emotion dysregulation :( I wonder if I need something else, except a lot of CBT therapy...
