Do I go to a specialist to get a proper diagnosis? I’m from a small town and my doctor isn’t taking me seriously but I want to know how bad my adhd is… and what type I may have. I’m from Michigan btw.
Yes, it’s extensive testing involved in proper diagnosis as ADHD can also relate to other diagnosis. I’d recommend a psychiatrist like others have suggested
I’d also start with a psychiatrist. Depending on them they’ll with be comfortable diagnosing you themself or they can refer you for other assessment. I just went through neuropsychological evaluation and the process provided a lot of information that was really interesting to me.
I would go to a psychiatrist that’s what I did to get an official diagnosis. Also live in a small town in Missouri so went to the specialist about an hour away.
