adhd meds
Does anyone know if there’s a difference between generic and brand for adhd meds? (I was given generic back when I was a student, and it didn’t work for me) If yes, which med works for you?

When a doctor prescribes you a brand medication, you only get the cheap generic medication - that’s how it is here in Germany (unless you’re a private patient). I’ve received a prescribed medication for ‚Elontril‘ but what I’ve got was ‚Bupropion‘ (generic medication). Result: very bad + big, dark and red itching points on the back of my knees, elbows and elbow insides. My doctor now marks the ‚aut idem‘ which works well enough, luckily.
I just switched from brand name Vyvanse to generic, and it works just as well for a tiny fraction of the name brand price.
I used to be a pharmacy technician. I learned there is no difference in the active chemical(s) in generic vs brand medications. Typically the difference between the two is usually the inactive ingredients, or the fillers. That's why some people may have an allergic reaction to generics and not brands because generics could use inactive ingredients that contain allergens, to make them cheap
