Any tips with remembering to keep in contact with someone?

I have a habit of making friends then forgetting to keep in contact with them cuz they're not also actively talking to me, how do I keep on top of that? I'm awful at starting conversations or trying to plan things that involve other people

I havent tried this yet (been putting it off, go figure) but i was thinking about using the schedule feature in texting apps so i could write up the texts ahead of time and just schedule them spaced out. Now I just have to actually do it....

Don’t feel shameful about not messsging them!! Be nicer to yourself! Even my friends without adhd have issues with it so don’t be so hard on urself. It helps if when you meet someone you let them know that if you drift / dissapear that it’s just because of your adhd and it’s no hard feelings. When you improve your self talk it allows yourself to be open to solutions and reaching out when you do remember. Also calendars work wonders HAAH. Another thing I try and do is make future plans with the person while I’m hanging out with them so it doesn’t have to be a seperate conversation.

Put a reminder alarm on your calendar. It helps me.

Implemented into my morning routine to send 1 person a day a message of appreciation. Seems like a lot but I only actually do it once per week (which is 1000x better than before). Science also shows this promotes happiness so double whammy.
