I always speak my opinion. How do I not overshare?

At work I always end up blurting out stuff in meetings or in our chat. In hindsight I feel like a lot of stuff are just personal opinions that I could have kept to myself, since it won't really benefit the team...

I’ve struggled with this too. Now I practice writing down all my comments, thoughts and questions and waiting until the end to address them. I also observe the room and if I’m the only one raising issues, I look at my list and choose only the very burning points. It’s a tough one if you’re very invested/excited about the subject of discussion. You can get disheartened if people don’t match your enthusiasm or worse, respond with rude remarks - so learn to look at impulse control as a way to guard your emotions.

If the meetings are virtual like zoom or something like that. Have a (physical) sticky note on your computer that says will this add value to the meeting? Or is this comment personal? Just give yourself a chance to think about it before you say something. And I say use a physical note instead of one on your desktop so that it doesn’t get closed out. And it’s always visible.
