New to all of it

Hey everyone! My name is Jackie and I also am brand new to this whole concept of that I actually do have ADHD! 🤯🤯🤯. To get real for a moment I am currently working on myself because I have always been on drugs and have identified as an addiction since I was 13 years old and the way I used my drugs was so that I could cope! When you don’t think like everyone else, especially about the things that we as ADHD’ers have to navigate through then you get a lot of negative feedback from the people you love and care for. I still don’t know what type of ADHD I have and if meditation is even a good idea for someone like me to look into. 🤢 I feel like I’m going in the right direction but I’m nervous 😬

Hi Jackie! Meditation and mindfulness has really helped my ADHD. I'm not an addict but I was raised in a 12-step program so I can empathize with the self-medicating. Have you tried a 12 step program? It works if you work it :) best to you!

Hi Jackie, 👋🏻 Im Anna. Thanks for sharing. I have ASD and ADHD but I am also a psychologist working with AuDHD folks. If you have a drug using history then meds are probably the right fit for you, as it means you need high stimulation in order to function.
