Routine (Asd + Adhd)

I’m trying to stick to a routine today and I’m already failing :,) I should be in the shower rn but for some reason while checking off another point from the to do list I got stuck here, reading comments and relating to y’all :0 while I don’t mind that yet, I know it will be a big struggle at the end of the day :( Expect for that, I made a routine chart and I just keep rearranging it so it also makes sense to my adhd side, my autistic side wants it to be logically, first showering, then brushing teeth, and then getting dressed but my adhd side has another logic, doing everything first that is not originally on my to do list so i don’t forget. So basically I’m just running around the house, doing manyyyyy tiny tasks to the point where I feel overwhelmed and can’t complete my actual tasks anymore *silent inner scream* wish me luck :D

I always try to catch myself in the middle of the chaos and repeat “stop - just finish one thing right now and then do another” and I force myself to finish it. The AU side is indisputable, but the ADHD side can be trained (as far as my experience goes). Just give it time and effort and you will see a positive outcome 🫶🏻

I’m starting to get rid of the word “should” from my vocabulary. It might help you too. It is usually negative self take and comes with shame. For example, try “I could be in the shower right now”. It can make a big difference.
