At the same time I started using this app, I started my 7 days for free with „Rise sleep“- a cool app if you also are using a smart watch ~ maybe it also works without, dunno~ .. anyways, along with multiple other helpful guides, it shows your current „sleep debt“ (hours of sleep missing during the current past 14 days) , depending on what your goal of hours per night is (you can set the desired amount) I heard 8,5 hours would be optimal and I know, usually I only get around 5-6 hours T_T sleep debt can be lowered by sleeping longer than your goal, taking naps, or just by improving everyday a bit and eventually reaching your goal with the advice and reminders the app offers you. Because sleep debt is calculated always of the last 14 days- so everyday day the first day of that row moves up by one 🤓 In these two weeks I am using it I managed to lower my sleep debt from 21 hours (!!) to only 5! Which is normal/nothing special actually- you might want to try this app! If you find someone already using it, you can be invited and try it for 30 instead of 7 days only- I wish somebody had invited me 🤭
My new naturopathic doctor told me that when I feel tired all of the time, part of it at least means I need more and better sleep. Another part of it could be underlying deficiencies and conditions. After some very thorough blood work, I found out that I: - am seriously Vitamin B12, D3, K2, and Zinc deficient - have Hashimoto’s disease (antibodies attacking my thyroid - super fun) - have candida overgrowth (like having a bakery in my body) - and my homocysteine levels were off (I think it’s about B6, B9 (folate), and B12 deficiencies and maybe inflammation as well. People with ADHD are often low in Zinc and high in Copper. Taking Zinc 3x per day helps with copper levels. I take other supplements for homocysteine, specific types of pre- and probiotics, administer vitamin B12 shots, take methylfolate to aid vitamin B absorption, and something else for candida. It’s well worth having bloodwork done that looks at all the vitamins and minerals, homocysteine levels, thyroid antibodies instead of just T3 and T4. It took less than a month to stop feeling like the walking dead the second I got home from work. I still love to take naps or at least lie down in bed with the dogs and recharge by myself.
Can't sleep at night, then shutting down during the day. I'm very mentally drained all the time. Hope you get some relief. For me even getting out of bed during the day seems like a huge task, but I'm also dx with CFS.
I have been there during the worst of my depressive times. CBT strategies, such as the ones right here in this app, have helped a lot - As routines and dopamine release are improved.
