Same…I was 26 when I was formally diagnosed and medicated. It’s been 6 years and I now have a Bachelor’s degree, am a member of the chi alpha epsilon National Honor society and am working on two master’s degrees. I struggled through high school with mediocre grades and no motivation to be anywhere or do anything. Im so glad i finally took myself to the psychiatrist !!!

I do feel some relief but also frustration that it wasn’t picked up sooner but now I know I can try to move on and accept who I am now

It must have been so hard to live 44 years without knowing you had ADHD. I spent 19 years thinking I was just lazy and weird, so I can’t imagine what it was like for you. It got a bit easier once I knew, because I became able to understand myself better, find a community and get medication. I hope life will get easier for you too!! You’re not alone ❤️

I was diagnosed deep into my high school career, so not as late as you, but I do understand the frustration that comes with a late diagnosis. It's like, all of a sudden, a lot of your behaviors make sense. Just know you are not alone ❤️ there is a whole community of people here for you.
