Numo Ethics, Safety & Responsible AI Statement

Updated at Dec 25, 2025

1. Purpose of Numo

Numo is a self-management and behavioural support tool designed to help people structure tasks, routines and reflections. We aim to support everyday functioning and wellbeing through practical tools, peer accountability features, and optional AI-assisted suggestions.

2. Not medical advice / not a medical device

Numo does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Numo is not a substitute for professional medical care, psychotherapy, emergency services, or crisis support.

If you are under the care of a licensed clinician, taking medication, or following a treatment plan, please treat Numo as a supportive self-management tool — not as a replacement for professional guidance.

3. Crisis and emergency situations

Numo is not designed to detect, triage, or respond to mental health crises.

If you feel you are at risk of harming yourself or others, or you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency number (e.g. 112 in the EU or 911 in the US), reach out to local crisis or suicide prevention services, or seek immediate professional help.

4. Age and vulnerable users

Numo is primarily designed for adults.

If you are under 18, we strongly recommend using Numo with the involvement and guidance of a parent or legal guardian and avoiding sharing personal or sensitive information publicly.

Numo is not intended for children under the age of 13. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will take steps to restrict access and delete associated personal information where applicable.

5. User-generated content and community safety

Numo includes community features where users can post content and interact with others. Community content is public by default and may be indexed by search engines.

Users are strongly encouraged not to share highly sensitive personal information such as medical records, contact details, financial data, or information that could cause harm if disclosed publicly.

Numo reserves the right to remove content and restrict accounts that violate community rules, including harassment, hate speech, threats, explicit content, or harmful advice. Moderation may involve user reports and manual review.

6. Privacy and data protection

Numo applies a privacy-by-design and data-minimisation approach. Personal information is processed to provide and improve the Services, including onboarding responses and usage data.

Numo does not sell personal data. Information may be shared with trusted service providers such as hosting, analytics, and customer support partners, or where required by law.

Where personal data is transferred outside the EU or EEA, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) are applied. For full details, please refer to the Privacy Policy.

7. Account deletion and data retention

Users may request or initiate deletion of their account and associated profile data. Certain information may remain for a limited time in backups or analytical systems, or in aggregated or de-identified form, in accordance with applicable law and the Privacy Policy.

If users have posted public content, author identifiers may be anonymised upon account deletion, while the content may remain visible unless removed separately.

8. Responsible AI use

Some Numo features use AI to assist with task structuring, prioritisation, and recommendations of educational content. AI-generated outputs are advisory only and may be incomplete or inaccurate.

Numo does not use AI to diagnose medical conditions, recommend or adjust medication, provide professional therapy, or make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Human oversight, quality monitoring, and ongoing improvement are applied to AI-enabled features where feasible.

9. Research and experimentation

Numo may analyse aggregated or de-identified usage data to improve product quality, safety, and performance. Numo does not conduct clinical trials or formal human-subject research within the Services without appropriate safeguards and explicit participant consent.

10. Ethics Owner

Numo has appointed an Ethics Owner responsible for overseeing ethical considerations, coordinating ethics and safety measures, and ensuring ongoing accountability.

Ethics Owner: Vitalii Rozhevskyi
